Laws can be enacted to give you some bonuses. With the [[Government#Republics|Republic]] government type, you will first need to let the [[Government#Republics|Senate]] vote on the law first. Even if the Senate doesn't support the law, you can still force it through, although you will gain some [[tyranny]]. You will need 250{{icon|oratory power}} Oratory Power to pass a law.
[[法律]](Laws) define the military, economic, social, and political structure and policies of the country at a more granular level below the [[government]] form, allowing countries to choose between a wide array of various possible modifiers and bonuses. Every law is part of a category of related laws, and only one law in each category can be enacted at a time, with the first law in each category usually enacted by default at the start of the game; many law categories are locked at start, with governmental or technological advancement required to enact the new laws and get their often increasingly powerful bonuses.

Tribes are different in many ways from other countries. Most notably the Centralization value of Tribal countries cover how sedentary their society is, and Tribes that do not settle down and turn into Monarchies or Republics have a hard time getting far ahead in technology.
 
Instead of unlocking from technology Tribal laws are separated into two distinct varieties. One variety opens up more laws the more negative your centralization is, while the other unlocks more laws the higher your centralization is.
 
Laws themselves will also all either increase or decrease Centralization over time, making laws an integral part of making your Tribe more migratory or in turning it more sedentary and ultimately a Republic or Monarchy.
 
The added effects of multiple laws also means that while it is slow at start the reformation of your society will tend to pick up pace over time as more laws are enacted.

Where Republics have to accept that any law they adopt will have an effect on the balance of the senate factions Monarchies will instead contend with the fact that most laws will now increase the loyalty of either your generals or your governors, while also decreasing it for the other group. 法律(Laws) define the military, economic, social, and political structure and policies of the country at a more granular level below the government form, allowing countries to choose between a wide array of various possible modifiers and bonuses. Every law is part of a category of related laws, and only one law in each category can be enacted at a time, with the first law in each category usually enacted by default at the start of the game; many law categories are locked at start, with governmental or technological advancement required to enact the new laws and get their often increasingly powerful bonuses.

Changing Laws

Enacting a new law costs a base of 15 Stability.png Stability and 35 Political influence.png Political Influence, which can be reduced through the Enact law cost Enact Law Cost modifier. While monarchies can pass laws at any time provided enough stability and political influence, republics must seek the approval of the Senate, requiring at least Faction approval 60 Senate support for full approval or at least Faction approval 40 support to force it through at the cost of Tyranny 0.66 tyranny for every point of support below 60 (up to a maximum of Tyranny 13.32). Tribes must instead seek the approval of their Clan chiefs.png clan chiefs; if any of them are disloyal, no laws can be passed. Additionally, some laws are locked behind various requirements, such as technology level, Centralization.png centralization (for tribes), ruler faction and attributes, and more.

Types of Laws

Each type of government has its own distinct set of laws. Additionally, 罗马的国旗 罗马 also has its own unique laws if it is a republic, though apart from the names and descriptions it is almost entirely identical to the standard republican laws.

Tribal Laws

Tribes are different in many ways from other countries. Most notably the Centralization value of Tribal countries cover how sedentary their society is, and Tribes that do not settle down and turn into Monarchies or Republics have a hard time getting far ahead in technology.

Instead of unlocking from technology Tribal laws are separated into two distinct varieties. One variety opens up more laws the more negative your centralization is, while the other unlocks more laws the higher your centralization is.

Laws themselves will also all either increase or decrease Centralization over time, making laws an integral part of making your Tribe more migratory or in turning it more sedentary and ultimately a Republic or Monarchy.

The added effects of multiple laws also means that while it is slow at start the reformation of your society will tend to pick up pace over time as more laws are enacted.

Economic System

Coin Minting Initiative Foreign coins are swiftly becoming the most valued from of currency within our land. To have any form of legitimacy in the eyes of our neighbors, we must initiate our own program of coin minting.

Monarchy Laws

The law interface for monarchies

Where Republics have to accept that any law they adopt will have an effect on the balance of the senate factions Monarchies will instead contend with the fact that most laws will now increase the loyalty of either your generals or your governors, while also decreasing it for the other group. In this way you will now have to balance the need for loyalty of your governors versus that of your generals.

Just as in Republics there are a number of Law Categories that are unlocked by technology (Taxation Laws, Domestic Laws, Conversion Laws, Authority Laws and Contract Law) with each further modifying the loyalty of your Governors and Generals.

Succession Law

  • Eldest male child of the ruler is the primary heir. Women are excluded.
Agnatic succession dictates that the eldest male child always inherits the throne. This is a simple and ancient system, but can often result in young monarchs, bloody politics, and a lack of viable successors.

  • Same as Agnatic Primogeniture, but women are allowed to inherit if there is no male in the line of succession.
The principle of cognatic succession, is to allow female children of a monarch to succeed to the throne if there are no valid male heirs. This can affect the perceived legitimacy of a dynasty, but will greatly decrease the chances of a failed succession.

  • The brothers of the ruler have priority before the ruler's sons.
Agnatic Seniority is rarer form of patrilineal succession, in which the reigning monarch's younger brothers are higher in the order of succession than his sons. This can often result in huge webs of rivalry and myriad claimants to the throne.

  • The eldest child of the ruler, no matter its gender, will be the heir. Sibling marriage is allowed.
In this manner of succession, the eldest child of the ruler will be the primary heir, regardless of gender. In order to secure a strong, legitimate bloodline, however, it becomes commonplace for royal siblings to intermarry, thus avoiding any chance for the lineage to be sullied.

The main chance to Republican laws however is that any choice you make will increase the influence over one faction in senate over the others over time. Often the faction that grows will do so in a reactive manner, empowering one faction will allow its opponents to grow.
