Italian diplomacy branch
The Italian diplomacy branch starts off the mission tree, with no prerequisites, and allows the country to choose how it deals with the other Italic states. The main task required to progress down the rest of the tree will give various claims on other Italian states as well as various military modifiers, but through optional tasks 罗马 can also seek to emulate the Greek leagues of old and attempt a more diplomatic approach towards unifying Italy - or forsake its alliances altogether and destroy its sworn feudatories.

There is also an optional mission task that allows the country to peacefully demand tributary status of the various Greek city-states or liberate subjugated cities from their overlords, though these aggressive moves may spur the formation of an anti-Roman coalition instead.

The First Provincia
The islands that lay off the Italian peninsula are natural targets for expanding Rome's influence and depriving Punic and Greek colonists of the rich spoils these rugged lands hold.
The First Provincia mission tree directs 罗马 to expand into the nearby Mediterranean islands of Corsica, Sardinia, and Sicily, historically their first conquests outside of Italia proper after the First Punic War. Beginning with claims to all the target regions, there is one branch for conquering and establishing colonies on each island, with addition tasks to colonize the uncontrolled coasts of Corsica, deal with the Nuragic tribes of 撒丁尼亚, either by granting autonomy in the form of tribal vassal or ruthlessly suppressing the rebellion, and securing the rich and important grain production of Sicily, finishing with a choice between exploiting the provinces for their resources or seeking to more closely integrate the islands into the Roman sphere. Additional optional tasks might also allow 罗马 to reach out to remaining Siculian tribes of Sicily and offer protection or liberation in the name of Italic solidarity.
