'''Assyria''' is a [[Formable nations|formable nation]] in the Middle East that can be formed by nations with in the Aramaic culture group who have their capital in the Assyria region, representing a restoration of the Assyrian kingdom that would come to encompass all of northern Mesopotamia and at its greatest extent controlled all of the Fertile Crescent and beyond from Elam to Egypt as the most powerful empire of its time before its overthrow and destruction at the hands of {{flag|Babylon}} and {{flag|Media}} in 609 BC. Only {{flag|Adiabene}} and {{flag|Commagene}} have access to the formation decision at the start of the game, though the other Aramaic states ({{flag|Bambyce}} and {{flag|Tylos}}) can also form it if they move their capital into the Assyria region as well as any potential Aramaic culture group revolters. As a tier 2 formable, forming Assyria requires conquering all the major cities of historical Assyria - controlled by the {{flag|Seleukid Empire}} at start - and gives claims to all of Mesopotamia, giving a rising Assyria a strong power base from which to make all four corners of the world bow down to Nineveh once more.
