Personality traits typically have the widest variety of effects, and almost all characters have at least one or two of these. Usually a character has a maximum of one of those, that may give a bonus or penalty. Many of these traits can be treated (except for congenital traits), but as characters get older it will be increasingly difficult to avoid. They include bloodline traits as well as those given for more personal military or oratory successes. If they do not already have one, Hellenistic culture monarchs have a small chance of getting a random bloodline trait every time the Prove Legitimacy [[scheme]] is completed.
